From April 5 to 9 employees of the Restoration, Conservation and Binding Service will take part in the annual International Scientific and Practical seminar "Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation", held by the Russian State Library (RSL) and the Library Assembly of Eurasia (BAE) with the support of the Interstate Fоund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFGS) of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The seminar is held to improve the skills of restorers and curators of library, museum and archive collections. The experts are highly qualified specialists from Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, France, Russia and the Netherlands, who have many years of scientific experience in the field of priority areas in the conservation, restoration and reconstruction of ancient books.

The National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan will share the experience on preservation of paper documents by the head of restoration, preservation and binder Candidate of science (chemistry) Sarsenbayeva B. Sh. and Maratbek A. E.

The program of the seminar includes practical classes and workshops on the topics: "The formation of the traditional Armenian hardcover", "Netting Coptic capital", "Making marble paper" etc.
