On October 11 online seminar "School of cataloging - advanced training of library specialists on-line" was held at the Cataloguer school of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the seminar, the participants discussed issues related to the compilation of  bibliographic descriptions and the selection of information from the electronic resources.

In the period from October 23 to November 11 of this year, the Information Resources Service held online seminars, in which 830 specialists from regional universal scientific libraries, centralized library systems, regional and rural libraries took part.

The seminars discussed the issues of cataloging documents, compiling bibliographic descriptions, selecting and describing articles published in electronic form, rules for maintaining and indexing according to the universal decimal classification (UDC). A master class on compiling bibliographic indexes was held.

The training was carried out according to the modules of the WEB-RABIS program.

The librarians of the Republic thanked the specialists of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the provided scientific and methodological assistance and for organizing online seminars at a high level.
