   The National library of the RK, becoming an IFLA member annually participates in the work of the Conference of directors of national libraries (CDNL). The Conference of directors of national libraries was created in 1973. The organization is actively involved in the discussion of the problems of the national libraries of the states of Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. The annual sessions of the CDNL traditionally take place during the IFLA General conference. The organization is involved in the procedural issues of representing countries having two and more national libraries; the issues of legislation in the sphere of legal deposit; the activity of bibliographical services within the structure of the national libraries; the system of library and bibliographical standards; the storage of electronic documents (there within the structure of CDNL functions a separate Commission on digitization problems), the protection of information in the Internet etc.

   On August 20, 2013 there in Singapore took place the Conference of directors of National libraries (CDNL) which is traditionally held within the framework of carrying out of the IFLA Conference, during the whole day the directors of the leading National libraries of the world discussed the problems of development of the National libraries.
   The themes of the Conference: the mutual exchange of the National libraries in the sphere of informational resources; the promotion of the project on benchmarketing; the creation of the code of standards which would characterize the state of the work of  the National libraries in the given country and then would distribute upon the systems of public libraries. There were touched upon the problems of the formation of digital libraries and many other issues.
