The National library of the RK and the Library of Congress of the USA in 2009 concluded the Agreement on cooperation and development of the World digital library which provides charge-free access within the Internet in multilingual format to a great quantity of materials, representing the cultures of different countries of the world. The main goals of the World digital library are: to be conducive to the international and intercultural mutual understanding, the widening of the volume and variety of cultural content in the Internet, the provision of resources for teachers, scientists and all interested persons, the widening of the possibilities of partner-establishments for bridging the divide in digital technologies inside the country and between countries. 

   There at the site of the World digital library (http://www.wdl.org/ru/search/gallery/?institution=national-library-of-kazakhstan) are presented the unique rarities from the fond of the National library of the RK: the electronic copies of 4 documents from the fond of rare books and manuscripts: the Works of Abai Kunanbayev (St.-Petersburg, 1909); two manuscripts – Risala (Miratul-kulub) by Khodja Akhmet Yassaui (the XVIII c.), Nasab-nama (The genealogy of Khodja Akhmet Yassaui 1687/88); the Map of the Bukhar, Khiva and Kokand khanates and part of Russian Turkestan (1875). Thanks to the participation of the National library of the RK in the given project, the world user received access to the unique documents from the fond of rare books and manuscripts of the library, which are the cultural heritage of the whole Kazakh people.
