A book exhibition «Sazdy auen sazgeri» was organized in the reading room of the Art Department, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Bisengali Gizatov, a musicologist, Candidate of Art History, and Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce readers to the work and life path of B. Gizatov.
Bisengali Gizatov was born in the village of Zhanybek, Zhanybek district, West Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatory. In 1953-1957.He worked at the Alma-Ata Music College, and in 1957-1963 he was a music editor at the «Zhazushi» publishing house. In 1966-1991, he was a junior and then a senior researcher at the Music Department of the Institute of Literature and Art.
Bisengali Gizatov has conducted research on the origin and artistic formation of the first national orchestra in Kazakh art, creating creative characteristics of the activities of its conductors and composers. B. Gizatov has invested a lot of work in studying the issues of aesthetic education of children in primary schools of Kazakh schools. He has written and published textbooks that have been reprinted more than once.
The exhibition contains materials about the life and work of B. Gizatov: encyclopedia «Culture of Kazakhstan», T. Konyratbai «Musicа Oneri» Vol. 3, B. Amanov «Kazakh traditional music of the XX century», M.Akhmetov «Traditions of Kazakh song culture», as well as research by B. Gizatov himself: «Dombyra uyrenu mektebi» (1950), «Kurmangazy Kazakh Orchestra» (1955); «Mekteptegi an- musicа sabagу» (1962), «Latyf Hamidi» (1966), «Academician Akhmet Zhubanov» (1971), «Musical education in Kazakhstan» (1975), «From kuy to а symphony» (1976), «Kazaksha muzykalyk-terminologiyalyk sozdik» (1981), «Dombyrа uyrenu mektebi» (1983), «Anthology of Kazakh music grades 1-3» (1984), «Kazakh Orchestra named after Kurmangazy» (1994) and others.
The book exhibition features more than 100 publications from the collection of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
