A book exhibition «San kirly Sazger» was organized in the reading room of the Art Department, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the composer, conductor, teacher, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Seydolla Baiterekov.
The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce readers to the literature about the life and work of S. Baiterekov.
Seydolla Baiterekov was born in Kentau, South Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the conducting department of the Almaty State Conservatory in 1977. Kurmangazy and taught there. That year was also significant for Seydolla with the triumphant appearance of his song «Aliya», written to the words of B. Tazhibayev. The song performed by Rosa Rymbaeva won the Grand Prix at the Golden Orpheus Festival in Bulgaria in 1977.
For a long time, S. Baiterekov worked as the artistic director and conductor of the «Kazakhconcert» touring and concert association, where he paid great attention to the development of creative abilities of young performers.
From 1990 to the last days of his life, S. Baiterekov was the director of the «Saz» State Recording Studio.
The talented composer's songwriting is distinguished by its subtle lyricism and melodiousness. The songs «Kunge tabynu», «Dos turaly zhyr», «Turkistan», «Omir-omir», «Mоldir sezim», «Tusinbedim», «Bir bolayk», «Sagyndym dausyndy», «Aman bol» and many others are the favorite songs of the widest range of listeners. Baiterekov is the author of music for many cartoons, films («Son–in-law from the province», «The Smell of Wormwood»), dramatic productions («Sakal Saudasy», «Tastama otty, Prometheus», «Turandot khanshaim», «Men ishpegen u bar ma?», «The Tale of dombra and the Blue Flower», «Mahabbat Araly»), the musical «Erte, erte, ertede...» and others.
Seydolla Baiterekov is a composer who can rightfully be called a universal musician. He possessed a great melodic gift, and therefore was not only an excellent songwriter, but also worked in major genres, such as the symphony genre.
The exhibition «San kirly sazger» consists of two sections. The first section: «Shabytty shak» presents literature containing biographical information: «Kazak oneri, encyclopedia», P. Momynuly «Kazak muzykasyn kyskasha tarikhy. Vol.II», «Culture of Kazakhstan», «Kazakhstan compositorlary», etc.
The second section «Kongil-kuim underimmen kongildi» presents literature about the composer's work: books, music editions, records, CD-ROMs with recordings performed by famous Kazakh singers and musicians: S. Baiterekov «Zhan dosym», «Ak Zhauyn»,S. Sariev «Aynaladym senen, atameken-ai»,»Kazak underi», «Auyl keshi kunildi» and others.
About 100 pieces of materials about the composer's work are on display at the San Kirly Sazger exhibition.
