In the hall for researchers named after U. M. Sultangazin of the Kazakhstan Kitaptary Service, a book exhibition «Evney Buketov - 100 zhyl» was organized, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Soviet Kazakh scientist in the field of chemistry and metallurgy, writer, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, winner of the USSR State Prize, member of the Writers' Union The USSR by Evney Arstanovich Buketov.

Evney Arstanovich Buketov was born on March 23, 1925 in the village of Baganaty in the North Kazakhstan region.

From 1950 to 1960. Yevney Arstanovich is a graduate student, assistant, Associate Professor of the Department of Metallurgy of Light and Rare Metals, and then Deputy Director of Academic Affairs of the Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute.

In 1960, E. A. Buketov became the first director of the Karaganda Chemical and Metallurgical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, where he worked for 12 years. These were the most intense and fruitful years of his activity.

From 1972 to 1979, E. Buketov was the rector of Karaganda State University, where he worked for the last years of his life. Buketov's name was given to Karaganda State University.

Since 1966, he has been a Doctor of Technical Sciences, and in 1967, a professor.

In 1969, he was awarded the title of laureate of the USSR State Prize.

In 1970, he was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.

The purpose of the book exhibition is to popularize the legacy of the chemical scientist, to familiarize readers with the life and scientific work of an outstanding personality.

The exhibition presents materials reflecting the main stages of E. Buketov's life and career: encyclopedias, biographical reference books and scientific publications.
