On December 13, as part of the activities of the Literary Academy Hall, a presentation of the book «Night in the Library» by Irina Bakulina, a Kazakhstani writer and a resident of the USW writers' community, took place. 

The event was opened by Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yusupova Azhar Khamitovna.

The event was hosted by a young specialist of the World Literature Service Kozhamberdi Zerde.

Andrey Orlov, the invited guest of the presentation, founder and head of the United States of Writers Literary Club (the United States of Writers, the Community of Writers of Kazakhstan), shared his impressions of his work with aspiring modern writers.

In her presentation, Irina Bakulina told the young participants about the idea and what inspired her to write the book, as well as about working together in the writing community of Kazakhstan. She shared her plans for future book projects that are in the works.

Irina Bakulina has written about 300 short stories and two novels, some of which have been published in collections. The author's most popular books are «New Year on Mars», «Marie's Story», «The Devil's Eyes, the Heart of Paris», «The Mirror Broke» and others.

«Night in the Library» is an adventure fantasy novel about mystical phenomena in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The novel is based on some real events, where fiction is added. The plot focuses on the unique story of the adventures of a group of teenage friends in the library. Irina Bakulina's book skillfully intertwines not only mystical patterns, but also amazing facts about this place. The story of friendship, trials and secrets gives each reader a unique immersion experience in the book. Having made a mysterious way through the labyrinths of library shelves, the heroes pass the test of time, showing that true friendship overcomes any obstacles.

At the beginning of the literary meeting, actress Sofya Nekrasova presented an episode from the stage production of the Bunker Art Shelter Theater based on the book «Night in the Library.»

Young specialists of the World Literature Service Alkambai Ayaulym and Kozhamberdi Zerde conducted an educational quiz on this book. The winners of the quiz received memorable prizes – books from the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by teachers, young professionals, librarians and students of secondary schools №45 and №55.
