On September 20, 2024, an international training seminar on the topic «Preservation and restoration of documents - the basis for ensuring the safety of library collections», organized by the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the All–Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino and the All-Russian Artistic Scientific Restoration Center named after Academician I.E. Grabar, completed its work.
The seminar was organized within the framework of the work of the IFLA/ РАС Regional Center for Conservation and Conservation of Central Asia and the School for Conservation and Restoration of Written Documents of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.On the fifth day of the seminar, representatives from Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as specialists from libraries, archives and museums of Kazakhstan with experience in the field of preservation and restoration of documentary cultural heritage, met at the final event.
Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Regional Center for Conservation and Conservation of IFLA/RAS for Central Asia, Chairman of the Kazakh Library Union, made a welcoming speech and best wishes. Words of gratitude were expressed by representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and the community of restorers of Kazakhstan, where the speakers noted the need to increase the level of professional knowledge in the field of preserving historical and cultural documentary heritage and emphasized the importance of cooperation with colleagues from other countries.Next, certificates were presented to specialists from Kyrgyzstan, from regional libraries, archives and museums of Kazakhstan who participated in this seminar.
