On May 15-17, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a large-scale Book Fair «Qazaq Book Fair».

The purpose of the exhibition-fair is to introduce children and adolescents to reading, stimulate their interest in books, promote family reading, and form a taste for reading among young people.

Speaking at the 3rd meeting of the National kurultai «Adal Adam-Adal enbek – Adal tabys», Head of state Kassym – Jomart Tokayev said: «first of all, we must instill in young people a love of learning. Only in this way will we become a nation of readers. ...The most important steps for the progress of our nation are books. Therefore, we must consistently introduce a culture of higher learning into society».

A book fair was opened in the lobby of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was attended by the publishers «Foliant», «Qasym publishing house» and «Knizhny club».

«Foliant»is a multidisciplinary Kazakh publishing house that has been operating in the publishing industry since 1996. The publishing house annually translates and publishes hundreds of World's best works into Kazakh. The range of" Foliant " includes masterpieces of Kazakh literature, world classics, a number of thousand types of scientific and educational works.       

The book fair «Qazaq Book Fair « consists of a three-day cultural and business program: presentations of new books, meetings with authors, autograph sessions, special master classes at the children's playground.
