The exhibition «Aktobe oblystyk gazeti – 100 zhyl», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Aktobe regional socio-political newspaper «Aktobe», was organized in the reading room of periodicals.

Aktobe regional socio-political newspaper «Aktobe» has been published since June 7, 1924 and is one of the most widely read in the region. Due to political reasons, the newspaper was repeatedly closed and changed its name several times. The first issue of the newspaper was published in 1924 under the name «Kedey», then «Alga» (since August 1930), «Socialistіk Zhol» (since March 1932), «Batys Kazakhstan» (since July 1962), «Communism Zholy» (since February 1965).

Since October 12, 1990, the newspaper has been published under the name «Aktobe». In the early years, the newspaper was published in Arabic and then Latin graphics. The editor of the first two issues of the newspaper was I.Kuramysov. The newspaper «Kedey» contributed to the work on the elimination of illiteracy of the population of the region, developed the spiritual consciousness of the people of that time.

The newspaper was twice awarded the Diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR. And in 1974 she was awarded the Order of the «Badge of Honor».

The newspaper was presented at the All-Union Exhibition in Moscow, Budapest and Prague, where it was awarded gold and silver medals, and also became one of the winners of the exhibition of achievements of the national economy. Editor of the newspaper «Aktobe» for many years (27 years)  There was N. Tileuov, who was twice awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of the «Badge of Honor».

The regional socio-political newspaper «Aktobe» is published twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday. Today, the newspaper «Aktobe» reflects the current problems of society, the course of economic and social reforms in the region and much more. The history of the newspaper has repeatedly been the subject of research by scientists, encyclopedists, local historians and bibliographers.

The exhibition presents copies of publications, materials and articles of public figures published in different years on the pages of the newspaper «Aktobe».
