On February 22, 2019 in the hall named after N. Dauletova held an evening in memory of the poet, playwright, literary critic, people's writer of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdildy Tazhibayev.
The event was opened by the director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan J. Seidumanov.
Abdilda Tazhibayev was born in 1909 in Akmechet (now Kyzylorda). He was brought up in an orphanage for orphans. He studied in a seven-year school in Shymkent city.
Graduated from the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (now Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi), higher literary courses at the Literary Institute named after M.Gorky.
He began his career in 1926-1928 with the newspaper "Yenbekshi kazak" (now "Egemen Kazakhstan") as a mail carrier, then as a proofreader.
In 1932-1934 he was deputy editor of the newspaper "Leninshil jas" (now "Zhas alash"), in 1934-1939 he was secretary of the board of the Writers' Union of the Kazakh SSR, in 1939-1943 chairman of the board of the Writers' Union of the Kazakh SSR, in 1945-1948 he was head of the department of djambulology of the Institute of language and literature of the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences. From 1958 to 1960 he was chief editor of the newspaper "Kazak adebieti", in 1960-1984 he was secretary of the board of the Union of writers of Kazakhstan, a senior research fellow, head of the department of theatrical and fine arts of the Institute of literature and arts of the Academy of sciences of Kazakh SSR.
In the framework of the event a book exhibition "Poet, scientist, playwright", dedicated to the life and works of A. Tazhibayev, was organized from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Serik Kirabayev, Mereke Kulkenov, Toregeldi Sharmanov, Seifolla Ospan, Amanhan Alimuly, Bakytzhan Kanapiyanov, Sarsenbi Dauytov, Dandai Yskak, Kuandyk Tumenbay, Dosym Suleyev, Zayda Bekhojina, Zhanar Mustafina and others participated and spoke at the event.
Poet, journalist, chief editor of the newspaper "Ana Tili" Zhanarbek Ashimzhan moderated the event.
