Shakespeare's literary work began between 1585 and 1592, when he moved to London. Most of Shakespeare's works were written between 1589 and 1613. By the age of 30 he had written the poem "Venus and Adonis", then "Lucretia".These works first made Shakespeare famous. At the same time he wrote 154 sonnets, plays from the history of England - "Henry VI", "Richard III", comedies - "The Comedy of Errors", "The Taming of the Shrew" and the tragedy "Titus Andronicus". This was followed by new chronicles: "Richard II", "King John" and comedies - "The two Veronese", "Fruitless efforts of love," "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Merchant of Venice," the tragedy "Romeo and Juliet". This period of the writer's creativity completed a brilliant cycle of comedies: "Much Ado about Nothing", "The Merry Wives of Windsor", and "Twelfth Night".  In 1600 Shakespeare composed his best works: "Julius Caesar", "Hamlet", "Othello", "King Lear" and "Macbeth". Then followed the ancient tragedies: "Antony and Cleopatra", "Coriolanus", "Timon of Athens". The tragicomedies "Pericles", "Cymbeline", "The Winter's Tale" and "The Tempest" completed the creative path of the playwright.

Shakespeare's work is the pinnacle of world art. The surviving works, including some co-written with other authors, consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, four poems, and three epitaphs, which have been read by people for five centuries.
