On October 19, 2019 in the hall named after. N. Dauletova National Library of the RK Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a roundtable meeting of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement "Nevada-Semey" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the last nuclear explosion on the territory of the republic.


During the round table, Olzhas Suleimenov said that 30 years ago, on October 19, 1989, the international anti-nuclear movement "Nevada-Semey" suspended 11 of the planned 18 explosions at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. 

The President of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement "Nevada-Semey" Mr. Olzhas Suleimenov congratulated all veterans, scientists, activists on this event and awarded them with the anniversary medal dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement "Nevada-Semey". He also awarded the anniversary medal to the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The director of the National library B.K. Ospanova gratefully accepted the award and showed the first library card of Olzhas Suleimenov, which had been kept in the National library of Kazakhstan all these years.

The event was attended by intellectuals, public figures, writers, students, employees of the National Library, representatives of the media.
