ШаймерденовThere bin the reading hall after O. Zhandosov of the Service «Kazakstan kitaptary» is organized the book exhibition «Adebi tulga», dedicated to the centenary of the people’s writer, winner of the State prize of the KazSSR, dramaturgist Safuan Shaimerdenov.

Safuan Shaimerdenov was born of April 15, 1922 in the village of Amangeldy of the Jambyl district of the Northern-Kazakhstani region. After finishing the secondary school, he worked as a teacher. In 1950 he graduated with the honours from the faculty of philology of the KazGU after S.M. Kirov.

  He served in the Soviet army of the USSR. In 1942-1943 he worked as secretary of the Presnovskiy district committee of the Komsomol, in 1943-1949 – the literary worker of the Northern-Kazakhstani regional newspaper «Lenin tuy»; in 1950-1952 – the correspondent of the newspaper «Leninshyl zhas» for the Karaganda region. In 1952 he headed the department of the magazine «Adebiyet zhane oner», occupied the post of the head of the Section of prose of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, in 1955 he was at the post of chief editor of the newspaper «Kazak adebiyety». In 1958-1960 he was secretary of the board of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, in 1971-1976 he headed the repertoire collegiate of the Ministry of culture of Kazakhstan. From 1976 he passed over to the creative work. He was awarded the orders of «Otan», «Badge of Honour», the medal «For labour distinction» and the Honorary certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR. The People’s writer of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1992), the Honorary citizen of the city Petropavlovsk. 

In 1953 there came out the first novel «The way to future», which afterwards was translated into the Russian language under the title «Inesh». After that there by the author was written the short novel about the thirties «Mezgil» and the book-picture «Zhanar and Danar». In 1966 there was published the short novel «The acquaintance neighbor». There into the cycle «The light of life» entered the six short novels united by the commonality of the theme and idea, topicality of the plot and contents, translated into a number of the languages of the world.

  1. Shaimerdenov is the well-known dramaturgist. The staged plays «Where are you, Zarina?», «You are my song» and others were staged in the Kazakhstani theatres many times. Besides, he translated into the Kazakh language the works of such authors like Rabindranat Tagore, Lev Tolstoi and others. His work «The short novel about Bitabar» was awarded the prize of the VCSPS and the Writers’ Union of the USSR as the best book by the theme about the working class. «The palm of the brothers» and «The literary waves» were awarded the State prize of the KazSSR after Abai (1988).     

There at the book exhibition «Adebi tulga» are presented the encyclopaedias, materials about the life and creative activity of S. Shaimerdenov, and also the books of the author from the fond of National library of the RK. After that the exhibition acquaints the reader with the works of S. Shaimerdenov: «Minez» (1960), «The stepmother» (1966), «Kargash» (1967), «Omir nury» (1972), «The migratory birds» (1973), «Seldyn ekpiny» (1977), «Dokei kele zhatyr” (1983), «Agalardyn alakany» (1990).

The purpose of the book exhibition is the propagation and acquaintance with the life and creative activity of the Kazakh writer S. Shaimerdenov, who was conducive to the development of Kazakh literature.
