The Thanksgiving Day is marked in Kazakhstan on March 1 as the day of peace and harmony, mutual trust and respect for the whole Kazakhstani people.

During the most complicated years the Kazakh land heart fully accepted the millions of people of different nationalities and peoples who were forced to migrate here due to different historical circumstances. They and their progenies acquired in Kazakhstan the new Motherland and they made worthy contribution into the development of our state. During the Thanksgiving Day we respect each other for the striving to live in friendship and agreement in the name of the flourishing of the people.

The tragical events which happened at the beginning of January in Almaty city and the other regions of Kazakhstan highlighted the negative sides as well as the positive potential of our society. The selfless and mutual sincere support in the conditions of danger showed the positive sides of morality of separate Kazakhstanis. It is not incidental that President Kasym-Zhomart K. Tokayev noted the high human qualities of the citizens for the destiny of the country, and not only in Almaty but in other cities of the republic. The head of Kazakhstan thanked the citizens who showed courage at the critical hour and also handed the awards to the heroes and relatives of those perished in the course of the tragical January events.

There at the exhibition are presented the materials and articles on the pages of the periodical press from the fond of National library of the RK about the selfless deeds and feats of the firemen, workers of the police, medical workers, drivers of the ambulances, volunteers and the usual citizens who rendered assistance in these days to all who suffered.
