On January 25 at 11:00 there in the Hall of world literature took place the annual traditional ceremony of donation of books to the National library of the RK from the General consulate of the Russian Federation in Almaty city, the representation of “Rossotrudnichestvo” company in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The annual traditional donation of the new collection of books for the Book corner of Russia took place on “Tatjana’s day” which in Russia is celebrated on January 25 as “The day of the Russian students”. Its history and traditions it carries out already from the 18-th century.

On January 25 in 1755 the empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed the decree “About the establishment of the Moscow university” (today the Moscow state university after M.V.Lomonosov) and “The Tatjana’s day” became the official university day.

There in the activity of the donation participated the diplomats of the General consulate of the Russian Federation in Almaty city: the consul-councilor O.A.Borovik, the representative of “Rossotrudnichestvo” in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the consul T.V.Baryshnikova, the chief specialist-expert O.V.Moshcheyeva. the moderator of the given activity was deputy director of the National library of the RK A.Kh.Yussupova.

There with the word of greeting spoke director of National library of the RK B.K.Ospanova.

There was donated to the National library the literature on the history and culture of Russia, fiction, scientific literature in different spheres of knowledge and science, the Russian language, philology, literature studies in the amount of 182 units. Among the donated books are the literature from the following series: ”The treasures of Russian literature”; “The treasures of world literature”; “The Russian classics”; “The ABC classics”; “The winners of the International competition after Sergei Mikhalkov”; “The eternal poetry”; “The classics of history and culture”; “The Russian traditions”; “The Russian paintings”; “The dictionary of the Russian mentality”; Chuloshnikov A.P. “The essays on the history of the Kazakh-Kirghiz people in connection with the common historical destinies of the other Turkic tribes”.

In his speech the consul-councilor of the General consulate of the Russian Federation in Almaty city O.A.Borovik congratulated all the present people with “The Day of the Russian students” and he quoted the word 25 from the collection of Abai Kunanbayev “The words of edification” and the verses of Askar Mukayev. The consul T.V. Baryshnikova acquainted the readers with the literature which had been donated.

There at the solemn ceremony were present the readers and the workers of the National library of the RK. All the guests were invited to become acquainted with the new literature.
