From November 16 to 27 specialists of the KSU "State archive of the Almaty region" of the State institution "Department of culture, archives and documentation of the Almaty region" were trained In the school of conservation and restoration of written documents of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Experts Bagasheva K. D., Idris A. N. and Ospanov M. M. was acquainted with modern trends in the field of preservation of documentary heritage. The importance of compliance with the storage regime of documents: temperature and humidity, light and sanitary. Technologies for preservation and conservation were mastered: preventive and phase conservation; causes and types of damage to documents; methods for processing documents from biological damage, physical and chemical stabilization of documents; restoration of books on paper; production of bindings; basics of graphic design of bindings in Photoshop; features of restoration of rare books and manuscripts, production of leather bindings, etc.

Trainees were awarded certificates of completion of the course on preservation and restoration of documents.
