The book corner of Korea is opened in 2020 on the basis of the Memorandum between the General consulate of Korea in Almaty city and National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The sponsor of the given project is the National library of Korea.

The project “Window on Korea” was initiated by the National library of Korea, which from 2007 opens in the libraries of different countries the centers “Window on Korea”. There with the financial assistance of the National library of Korea and the General consulate of Korea in Almaty city is organized the reading hall with the new equipment, furniture and technics. There in the Book corner of Korea is presented the best modern literature in the Korean language and also the articles of the national applied art of Korea.

The activity of the Book corner of Korea includes:
The servicing of the readers with the materials in the Korean language about Korea, the peoples inhabiting it, the legislation, state structure, business, science, history, culture etc.

The carrying out of conferences, panels, presentations of books and other mass activities connected with the culture and literature of the peoples of Korea.

There in the Book corner operate the informational terminal where there for the readers are offered: the video-excursion around the National library of Korea, the books in the Korean language in the fond of National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the video-row on the history and culture, development of the economy of the cities of Korea and many other things.
