On September 25, 2019 of the current year there took place the solemn opening of the Book exhibition “Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan: the new horizons of cooperation” at National library of Uzbekistan after A.Navoi in Tashkent city.
And also there within the framework of the work of the Regional IFLA/PAC Centre for Central Asia functioning at the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 25-26 was carried out the master-class “Restoration of Oriental books” at the National library of Uzbekistan after A.Navoi.
The head of the Service “Kazakhstan kitaptary” M.B.Zharknalova and the head of the group of the Service of exhibitions and cultural programmes A.B.Mambayeva presented to the Uzbek readers the books of the well-known writers and outstanding figures of modern Kazakhstan, also there was presented the literature on the history and culture of Kazakhstan.
There with the word of greeting spoke: director of National library of Uzbekistan after A.Navoi U.A.Teshabayeva and the Councilor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan R.E.Duisenov and others.
After the end of the activity the books were solemnly handed over to the fond of National library of Uzbekistan, part of the books were given to the compatriots living in Uzbekistan: these are the works of the classics of Kazakh literature – Abai Kunanbayev, Mukhtar Auezov, S.Mukanov, M.Makatayev, O.Suleimenov and the unique reference editions.
On September 25-26, 2019 there at National library of Uzbekistan after A.Navoi the specialists of National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan: head of the Service of restoration, conservation and binding B.Sh.Sarsenbayeva and the restorer M.D.Uskenbayeva carried out the master-class by the theme: “Restoration of Oriental books”.
The master-class was carried out within the framework of the work of the IFLA/PAC Regional Centre for Central Asia, functioning at National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was timed for the carrying out of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan. There in the master-class participated the restorers from the libraries and archives of Tashkent city and also the restorers from Samarkand. The participants of the master-class were acquainted with the range of the works in conservation o0f documents, there were presented the new technologies in the restoration of books and they showed the manufacturing of the leather binding. This was the first exit master-class within the framework of the work of the IFLA/PAC Regional Centre for Central Asia.
